Black Point Holiday Experiences
Black Point's sheltered beach is ideal for swimming - it doesn't get deep too quickly and there are no strong currents or rips. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular and the water is usually calm and flat. There are lock-up storage facilities available on-site and guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks or canoe.
For the more adventurous diving and snorkelling are possible.
The fishing is usually very good, either from a boat or directly off the beach. Serious anglers will want to check out the local fishing guide.
If you want to hit the fairways the 18 hole Ardrossan golf course is 15 minutes away. Ph: (08) 8837 3653.
Nearby Attractions on the Yorke Peninsula
To the north the towns of Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina make up the historic Copper Triangle, named for the important copper mining that took part here in the late 1800s. The area contains several ruins and museums open to visitors.
To the south is the spectacular scenery of Innes National Park, a 9,232 ha park that contains important wildlife habitats, historic sites, and breath taking coastal views.
Great information on the wider Yorke Peninsula, including other Yorke Peninsula accommodation, is available from the Yorke Peninsula Regional Guide.
Local Services
There is a public boat ramp 100 meters from the house, and a private mooring for guests right in front of the accommodation.
For shopping Pine Point general store is two minutes away and does the basics: bread, milk, newspapers etc. Ardrossan supermarket is a 20 minute drive to the north (you pass Ardrossan on your way in to Black Point). This is the best place to stock up on food for your stay.
